Understand how damage is calculated and how to recover.
Health management is crucial to survival in Animon battles.
Taking Damage
When hit by an attack:
- Roll the attacker's attack roll
- If success, damage is calculated: Attack Power - Defense
- Subtract this from your current HP
- If HP reaches 0, your Animon faints
Defense Mechanics
- Higher defense stats reduce incoming damage
- Defensive abilities can increase defense further
- Type advantages grant defense bonuses
- Armor and held items provide defense bonuses
Healing
Restore HP through:
- Items: Potions and healing items
- Moves: Special healing moves
- Rest: Full healing between battle sessions
- Abilities: Some Animon can heal themselves or allies
Status Conditions
Conditions like Poison, Burn, Paralysis can reduce effectiveness:
- Each condition has specific effects
- Some reduce damage output, others reduce speed
- Healing items or moves can cure conditions
- Rest between battles clears most conditions
